Winter traveling is always more complicated in terms of packing.
The clothes are puffy, and the suitcase fills up in a second before you even notice.
That’s why when I go on this kind of vacation, I like to plan out every days’ outfit in advance so that I don’t take any clothes that I won’t wear.
The amount of clothing varies by the number of the days.
For a trip of up to 5 days I will take an outfit for every day + 2 evening outfits.
For a longer trip I will try to put together a few looks using the same items. Some kind of mix and match that would allow me not to take loads of clothes and still feel that I was dressed differently and varied every day.
In terms of shoes; I will always bring one pair of sneakers that I know will be comfortable for flights and transfers, one stylish (yet comfortable) pair for the day trips (can be the same as the first one, to save room), a fine pair for the evenings and flip flops (no matter what season it is, it’s always important to have flip flops in your bag, just in case… They don’t take lots of space anyway).
On such a winter travel,
It is important to stay warm so that we do not suffer from the cold weather, which can
spoil our experience.
I like to wear thermal clothing as a first layer (Uniqlo’s long thin socks, shirt and leggings).
And of course, scarf and gloves are mandatory items on such a trip!
